Stainless steel is a higher standard than BPA-free plastic - it doesn’t shed particles, doesn’t age, lasts for years.
Most pediatricians recommend starting solids around six months, with the first spoon. Cutlery for a baby learning to feed should be light, gum-safe, and shouldn’t leave taste or odor. Inox checks all three: light, smooth-edged, fully inert.

Plastic for babies is often sold as “BPA-free,” but that label only excludes one bisphenol. With heat and dishwasher cycles, plastic releases microparticles and other bisphenols (BPS, BPF) whose health effects are still being studied. Stainless steel sidesteps the entire question.
