Which material is safest for kids plates?

Grade 304 (18/8) and 316 stainless steel is the standard for kids plates. It’s chemically inert, doesn’t shed particles into food, doesn’t change taste, and survives both the dishwasher and the inevitable fall off the table.

Are inox plates dishwasher-safe?

Yes. Cycles up to 60°C without harsh chlorine detergents keep the polish and smoothness longer.

What’s a suction base and how does it help?

A silicone ring or pad on the underside that creates a vacuum on a flat surface. The plate "grips" the table and stops the inevitable baby pull. Food stays on the plate, table stays clean, parent stays sane.

Does inox change food taste?

No. Stainless steel is an inert material - doesn’t react with food, doesn’t shed, doesn’t absorb odors. Food tastes the same as from ceramic or glass, with no break risk.

Divided plate or classic - which to pick?

Divided is great for ages 1–4, when kids learn to recognize food types and eat varied meals more easily. Classic round is better after that age, when the child mixes food themselves. If you’re only buying one, start with divided.

What to look at when buying
