Small divided plate
Plates that don’t tip over easily, don’t break in everyday use and are made from a stable material for food contact. Stainless steel 304 (18/8) with a suction base.
All of our plates are made of 304 (18/8) stainless steel and have a silicone anti-slip insert with suction cups that helps the plate stand more steadily on the table during meals.
Diameter: 20.5 cm. Dividers separate different foods and help many children explore new flavors and textures. Usually suitable for the start of solids, the BLW phase, and ages up to about two years.
Diameter: 23 cm.The larger plate without dividers is intended for children who eat larger meals, like to mix the contents of a meal, or are moving on to "grown-up" children's tableware.
304 stainless steel is considered a very stable material for food contact and is widely used in professional kitchens and the food industry.
Unlike plastic, it doesn't wear or break down during everyday use, doesn't absorb odors or food colors, and handles frequent washing and hot food very well. In addition, it doesn't break on drops, it's easy to maintain and it can last for years.
More about the benefits of metal versus other materials in our stainless steel guide.
For tableware in contact with food, the most commonly recommended classes are 304 (18/8) or 316. These classes have very good corrosion resistance and handle daily use well.
For small children, a suction or anti-slip base can make a huge difference during a meal. It's especially practical during the BLW phase and for children between 6 months and 2 years who are just developing motor control.
Plastic and silicone can over time hold onto odors, absorb food colors and show signs of wear after frequent washing. That's why many families choose stainless steel as a more durable, more stable material for the surface that comes into direct contact with food.
Enamel can be a nice choice, but it chips and gets damaged more easily on drops, which is why many parents choose more impact-resistant materials such as stainless steel for small children.
In our plates, food comes into contact with stainless steel 304, while we use silicone for the anti-slip function and table stability. We wanted a plate that's stable, long-lasting and simple for everyday use.
